Sleeping Bear Dunes

Here are some pictures of our visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes in upper Michigan.  It was a warm sunny day.  The sand was very hot!  The first visit was an overlook at Lake Michigan.  The view point was approximately 450 ft above the level of the water.  You will see tiny specs down by the water, these are actually people!  It takes an hour or more to climb up this hill.  There was a whole youth group that decided it would be fun to run down it.  Most of them made it all the way down.  I am not sure if anyone was able to get back up!

Stretching the legs after the car ride.

Tori knows the way!

450' down.  This is where you can run down to the water, but must come back up.

Levi was exploring

Tamera and Dakota

Mamaw, Tori, and Daddy were exploring too!

There is a large cottonwood tree nearby, that is where all the white cotton balls you see flying around are coming from.  It was thick.

You can see to the left where people run down and if you look closely you can see the people.

Zoomed in show of the people

Zoomed out shot of the climb up!

Levi was a prankster.  We didn't even know until the kind person taking our picture asked if we wanted one without the bunny ears!

Next stop was the hill climb portion.  This is a much smaller hill relative to the first one.  This is open to the public to climb up and down to your hearts content, or until it stops...  Its hard work!

You can see Daddy, and then Levi is ahead.

Finally caught up to Levi!

We kept going all the way to the top.  We made it too!  This was hardly halfway point in this picture.

Levi is seen here trying to get to the top.

He came down and we tried a different route.  We both made it then!

The rest of the family waited below for us.
